SEMH Teaching Assistant - Slough

Are you passionate about supporting children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? We are looking for a resilient and dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant (TA) to join a specialist provision in Slough.

The school provides education for up to 38 primary-aged pupils (4-11 years) with Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs) and is also funded for 10 Alternative Provision (AP) places for Slough-based pupils at risk of exclusion from mainstream schools.

The Role:

As an SEMH TA, you will:? Support pupil learning by developing and using strategies tailored to individual needs.? Prepare and develop work programs and learning resources (under the guidance of teachers).? Ensure the safeguarding of children and young people, following best practices at all times.? Understand and implement 'Team Teach' principles and Trauma-Informed approaches.? Supervise and accompany pupils on off-site activities, ensuring their safety and engagement.

What We're Looking For:

?? Resilience - the ability to stay calm and adaptable in challenging situations.?? Experience with challenging behavior - ideal for those with a background in SEMH, PRUs, or alternative provisions.?? SEMH experience is preferred but not essential - training will be provided.?? A commitment to supporting students' emotional and social development.
