Teaching Assistant

We are currently seeking a dedicated Part-Time or potentially Full-Time Teaching Assistant to join a well-established school in Slough. This role will primarily involve providing cover support to various classrooms within our schools. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of classes while supporting both teachers and children in their learning journey.

Responsibilities:

  • Support teachers in the classroom during the absence of their usual Teaching Assistant
  • Assist in implementing lesson plans and engaging students in various learning activities with support from the Teaching Assistant
  • Help students with their assignments and coursework, providing additional guidance where the Teaching Assistant would normally assist
  • Promote a positive and inclusive atmosphere for learning, working alongside the Teaching Assistant to support all students
  • Manage classroom behaviour to maintain a respectful and safe environment, with the assistance of the Teaching Assistant
  • Collaborate with teachers and staff to address students' educational needs, complementing the work of the Teaching Assistant

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant is preferred but not essential (A persuasive CV always stands out)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work alongside a Teaching Assistant
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive approach to working with children, just like a Teaching Assistant
  • Availability and flexibility to work on short notice as a Teaching Assistant
  • Relevant qualifications or training in education or childcare would be beneficial for a Teaching Assistant role
  • Live in the Slough area or have the ability to commute
