X-Ray Screener - Cargo

Our client is a well-established global service provider to the Freight forwarding, express and international parcels, warehousing and logistics industry
We are now recruiting for an X-Ray Screener based in Slough you will be responsible for using an x-ray machine to conduct screening and security checks for prohibited items of cargo to be transported by air.

Duties and Responsibilities:
* X-Ray screening parcels ready for export.
* Conduct screening and security checks for prohibited items of cargo to be transported by air, in line with training and CAA regulations.
* Recording and escalating any issues or concerns.
* Pallet screening.
* Maintain focus and awareness within a busy environment.
* Tolerate moderate to loud level of noise in work environment.
* Utilise knowledge of airline codes, prefixes, common cargo abbreviations.
* Follow instructions from supervisor or lead screener.
* Assisting in general warehouse duties.

Essential Requirements:

* 5-year employment history in the UK - must be verifiable.
* Clear Criminal Record Check (Basic DBS Check).
* NXCT. - Experience in screening freight cargo is essential
* Cargo Operative Screening - COS.
* FLT licence is desirable
* Right to live and work in the UK.

Skills, Competencies & Attributes:

* Ability to multi-task and prioritise and a proactive approach.
* Must be physically fit due to Manual Handling.
* English proficiency (e.g., reading, writing, speaking, listening).
* Excellent visual observation and identification ability.
* Interpersonal skills - Must be able to communicate efficiently.
* Previous experience in a time-sensitive environment is desirable.
* Competent literacy, numeracy and IT skills.
* Flexible attitude to working hours, work activities.

Salary:

* Salary: Up to £29,000 dependent on experience.
* Monday to Friday - 2pm - 11pm
