Venn Group has partnered with a Local Authority in West London to recruit a Cyber Security Lead. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Cyber Security Lead to play a pivotal role in safeguarding the council’s digital infrastructure and ensuring compliance with key legislation and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities for the Cyber Security Lead:

  • Lead the development and implementation of robust cyber security strategies and policies
  • Manage and monitor the council’s digital infrastructure, identifying and addressing security risks
  • Provide expert advice on cyber threats, including web filtering and malware protection
  • Conduct security audits, risk assessments, and investigations into potential security breaches
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to enhance the council’s cyber defences
  • Ensure compliance with relevant cyber security standards and frameworks
  • Report regularly to senior leadership on the status of cyber security and recommend improvements

Essential Qualifications and Experience for the Cyber Security Lead:

  • Degree or NVQ Level 6 (or equivalent)
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in ICT Security or technical ICT roles
  • Strong knowledge of standards such as ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials, and ITIL
  • Experience in collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and external partners

Desirable Qualifications and Experience:
