Spencer Clarke Group are looking for a Public Health - Interim Resilience Manager to work within our local authority client in Slough! (Hybrid Working)

Contract - Initial 6 months contract with a view to being extended to an ongoing basis

Salary - £450.00 per day - negotiable dependent on experience

About the role:

  • Operate as part of the daily operational and business needs of the team with responsibility for carrying out your role within a sphere that involves new ways of proactively working.
  • You will identify and implement solutions to challenges and be responsible for designing and delivering service improvements by establishing plans and targets to address issues within your remit.
  • All aspects of the delivery of legislative statutory and non-statutory elements of service delivered by the Emergency Planning team and take key decisions, be they on own professional knowledge or based on that of profession specific team members.
  • Leading by example as PP and PH Directorate's most senior resilience professional providing advice and support internally within the organisation, to the Local Resilience Forum (LRF), externally to multi-agency partners and representing the organisation at local, LRF, regional and national level.
  • To complete Major Incident and other required specialist plans to requirements, validating, testing and exercising where required.
  • Ensure on call arrangement are effective. Ensuring staff are trained to the necessary level to be able to undertake their on-call duties competently. Ensure the organisation can operate effectively in an emergency even with very limited Emergency Planning team support.

About You:

  • A proven track record of resilience management within a political and/or partnership context of no less than 5 years
  • Demonstrable experience of working in a relevant environment. Providing expert technical advice to members of the public, professionals and members.
  • Experience of working with, supporting and briefing strategic leaders to make critical decisions in an incident or emergency.
  • Excellent understanding of the Civil Contingencies Act and LRF's and experience of working at a local, regional and national level.
