Main Purpose The Director of Finance and Business Operations will drive strategy, manage resources and maintain educational excellence across the school. This role provides financial oversight, compliance, and staff leadership while delivering strategic insights to the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), Trustees and stakeholders. The aim is to ensure the efficient and effective management of the School's operations.

Key Responsibilities 1. Financial Leadership

? Serve as Chief Finance Officer, leading the School’s financial strategy, compliance and sustainability

? Advise the Headteacher, SLT and Trustees on financial matters, strategic risks, and funding agreement compliance

? Oversee financial procedures, systems, and corporate services, including finance, risk management, legal, and governance

? Attend and participate in Full Governing Body and Trustee Audit & Risk Committee meetings

? Prepare and manage the School's Annual Budget, forecasts, management accounts, and financial reports, including reports for Trustees ? Liaise with external and internal auditors and manage annual audits

? Ensure efficient financial administration of non-curricular activities, trips, lettings, and third-party income

? Lead on the maintenance of risk registers and advise on financial risk management

? Secure and manage government funding 2. Corporate Governance & Compliance

? Act as Company Secretary, ensuring compliance with governance and legal matters

? Fulfil the role of Data Protection Lead, collaborating with the external DPO to ensure compliance

? Oversee health and safety, serving as Lead Fire Marshall and a member of the Trustees’ Health & Safety committee

? Ensure compliance with payroll, pensions, VAT and regulatory requirements

  • Lead and coordinate the School’s support staff, including IT, Estates, Finance, and Lettings teams
  • Oversee IT systems to support staff and students effectively
  • Act as the main point of contact for our external catering provider
