Orka Financial is working with a well known retail business based in Slough to recruit a Finance Manager to look after their UK & Ireland entries. The role will be based at their offices in Slough 3 days per week with 2 days from home. The role will be a key senior member of the UK Finance team with ownership for the accurate filing of statutory accounts, tax returns, payment of taxes and related compliance for all countries operated by the UK Office (UK, Ireland and EU) and the effective management of the Accounts Payable team.

Responsibilities:

• Manage one direct report- Accounts Payable.• Ensure the effective running of the Accounts Payable and Fixed Assets.• Utilises strong leadership and management skills to lead and develop both finance and non-finance teams to meet targets.• Identify and implement improvements in the efficiency of the processes across the Finance team.• Ownership of the production and filing of international statutory accounts and corporation tax returns in UK and Ireland. Includes ensuring all statutory accounts and corporation tax returns are produced to the relevant country’s accounting standards and in accordance with their filing deadlines.• Key point of contact between UK Finance team and external auditors for each country.• Responsible for maintaining statutory and taxation entries within Microsoft Dynamics 365 accounting system.• Prepare and submit VAT returns utilising Making Tax Digital software in the UK and in Ireland• Advise teams on accounting best practices in UK and Europe.• Responsible forecasting estimated tax owed, filing the necessary documents and ensuring that all payments are made on time to the relevant agencies in each country.• Manage monthly postings related to Accounts Payable, Fixed Assets and Payroll.• Investigate queries and provide commentaries for monthly results pack.• Participate in monthend meetings with the Senior US Finance team to review the financial results for UK.• Complete balance sheet reconciliations, providing all necessary support and analysis. • Ownership of cashflow forecasts and management of foreign currencies for UK, Ireland and Denmark. • Responsible for bank payments in multiple currencies.

Profile:

• ICAEW, ACCA, CIMA qualified• Three years plus of financial experience in a management role, with a proven, successful track record of delivery results to deadlines in a multi-national company.• Previous experience of the production of statutory accounts under FRS102, UK VAT returns and filing submissions on HMRC and Companies House online portals. • Strong management and partnership skills.• Self-sufficient with experience of managing their own and others workloads. Ability to prioritise and adapt workloads based upon the needs of the business.• Exceptional analytical and organisational skills, data-driven process-based decision making - able to identify opportunity, solution and see execution through to result.• Able to add value across functions with partners at multiple levels up to and including Board Level.• Personal and professional integrity, with a powerful, motivational work ethic.• Ambitious and success oriented.• Strong verbal and written communications skills, able to drive people performance remotely as well as personally. • Advanced Excel knowledge and high skill levels with Word and Powerpoint.• Full right to work in the UK.

Salary:

£62,000 - £70,000 + bonus + benefits
