Venn Group is proud to support a prestigious educational trust in Slough in their search for a Principal Finance Officer to join their team on a permanent basis.

As a key member of the Trust’s finance team, you will work closely with the Director of Finance, taking responsibility for technical financial management, including account closure, annual budget construction, and in-year budget monitoring. Additionally, you will contribute to developing and maintaining a robust financial framework to support the Trust’s long-term financial sustainability.

Role Details:

  • Salary: £59,387 - £65,205
  • Hours: Full-time, 35 hours per week (fully onsite)
  • Location: Slough

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive financial management services for the Trust.
  • Prepare annual revenue and capital management accounts.
  • Conduct regular budget monitoring for both revenue and capital.
  • Supply financial data for statutory and non-statutory reporting.
  • Analyse income and expenditure trends, offering sound financial projections.
  • Oversee the closure of annual accounts and ensure compliance with financial procedures.
  • Provide necessary financial information for internal and external audits.
  • Maintain the Trust’s financial ledger in line with ESFA requirements.

Person Specification:

  • Fully qualified accountant with at least three years’ experience in an educational trust (essential).
  • Proven ability to simplify complex financial issues and present them clearly (essential).
  • Proficiency in SAGE accounting systems (essential).
  • Strong track record of developing and implementing financial processes and protocols (essential).
  • Competent in using ICT to enhance financial services (essential).
  • Possession of an Enhanced Child and Adult DBS (dated within the last three years) (essential).
