We have an exciting and influential opportunity for a Senior Finance Director to provide high-quality financial planning and analysis which enables stakeholders to make strategic decisions that will maximise future enterprise value.

The role involves collaborating with business leaders to understand and align strategies with overall business goals and financial objectives, conducting in-depth financial analysis to support decision-making, completing key financial planning processes, ensuring suitable cost control measures are in place, and supporting the acquisition and integration of M&A targets.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business leaders, notably the Chief Financial Officer, Chief Operating Officer and UK divisional MDs to understand and align strategies with overall business goals and financial objectives.
  • Conduct in-depth financial analysis to support decision-making, provide insight into business performance, trends, risks, and opportunities, and present findings in a clear and actionable manner to senior non-financial stakeholders.
  • Lead key financial planning processes for both the Group and UK P&L, including monthly re-forecasts, annual budgets, and long-term strategic plans.
  • Work with senior leaders to ensure investments demonstrate an appropriate return, ensure suitable cost control measures are in place to achieve required EBITDA targets
  • Support the acquisition and integration of M&A targets. Work closely with MD’s (M&A deal sponsors) to achieve value creation plans and post-acquisition investment cases.
  • Act as the finance lead on maintenance and further development of a data warehouse led financial reporting solution, notably customer ARR trends.
  • Support the implementation of new software tools, notably a new central FP&A tools for the group.
  • Support the preparation of key investor reporting (for example the monthly Board pack). Respond to ad hoc investor queries as required.
  • Lead and mentor a dynamic team of professionals spanning various levels of career development, including finance directors, newly qualified personnel, part-qualified ones, and recent graduates, helping to ensure that IRIS develops its next generation of talented professionals and acquires the right skillsets to support sustainable growth.
  • Support the group to achieve a consistent approach to geographical expansion, notably work with the America’s finance team to ensure financial reporting processes and approach are aligned.
  • Supported by the team, play a leading role in ensuring the key value creation plans we have in place deliver their targets
  • Build out standardised and insightful reporting around product migration programs, enabling the business to maximise customer retention and upsell
  • Help drive the transformation activities around the COO function to achieve targeted efficiencies in delivery of service and support
  • Key contributor to the roll out of finance consolidation and reporting tooling project

Knowledge and Experience

  • Accountancy qualification essential (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or similar)
  • Advanced Excel and experience in using complex financial modelling.
  • Experience in using data visualisation/reporting tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
  • A proven track record of working in a senior finance position, ideally within technology or growth industry.
  • Experience of working in a private equity-backed environment, previous involvement in an exit process beneficial.
  • Deep understanding of financial modeling, scenario planning, forecasting, budgeting, and consolidation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate complex information to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
  • Strategic orientation, and the ability to operate at the highest level within the organisation.
  • Strong commercial acumen and critical thinking skills.
  • Resilient, adaptable, and able to face obstacles.
  • Confident and able to communicate effectively at all levels within the organisation.
  • Proactive with a can-do attitude.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven track record of leading, developing, and mentoring individuals and teams.
