Warehouse Forklift Operator

Our client are an established UK & European Logistics Solutions Provider, who due to expansion have an exciting new opportunity available for a Warehouse Forklift Operator, excellent career progression is available with this growing Company.

The successful Warehouse Forklift Operator will have previous experience of Warehouse and forklift operations, (counter balance &/or Reach cert), be physically fit, have a steady 5 year employment & CLEAR DBS record. Should be able to easily commute to Colnbrook, experience gained from within a freight/cargo/logistics industry.

Employment Terms

• Alternating Shifts Mon-Fri
• 07.00-16.00 1 week
• 10.00-19.00 1 week
• Salary £28-30k DOE
• Overtime available
• 20 days holiday plus BH

Role Purpose:

Maintaining a positive approach at all times, perform warehouse duties and manage areas of the operation at Colnbrook with the support of the other team members. Focusing on handling of the product and careful stowage within the vehicles/warehouse

• Off loading/Loading of all vehicles, via use of a the appropriate fork lift or lifting equipment ( tail lift)
• Pick consignments in warehouse prioritizing loading and unloading of vehicles in accordance with departure times
• Ensure that all vehicles are loaded in correct order of the trip sheet/manifest.
• Prior to loading/unloading CHECK all freight for correct quantities, reporting ANY VISIBLE damage or discrepancy immediately.
• With GOODS IN Ensure all items are accurately recorded and located
• Housekeeping: The warehouse must be kept in a clean and tidy manner at all times, (floors sweep daily, bins emptied freight in straight lines, no waste items to be left on any freight or in corners etc).
• Yard Management:
• Ensure that the correct vehicles are parked in the correct bays/kerbs ( vans v vehicles)
• The yard should be clear of freight, empty pallets, packaging and general waste
• Litter needs to be removed daily.
• Manage sub-contractors and ensure they park correctly ( no vehicles in the hatched areas )
• Security:
• All warehouse doors to remain shut if possible at all times unless loading or offloading
• If doors are opened then barriers should be in position
• Challenge any visitors or unknown personnel
• 10:30am daily walk round units looking for any general security risks which includes the sides and rear of buildings.
• Support any other areas of the business as and when required ( holiday cover, over time and weekends )
