We are seeking a dedicated Art and Design Teacher to join our academic team. The successful candidate will be pivotal in delivering A-Level standard education, preparing students for progression to Higher Education, and fostering a creative learning environment.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Plan and deliver art and design lessons for Year 1 and Year 2 of the A-Level and pre A-Level programme.
  • Manage a resource area in Fine Art, ensuring a variety of learning resources and specialist art equipment are available.
  • Develop and implement innovative lesson plans, schemes of work, and teaching resources that align with the school’s ethos and development plan.
  • Conduct accurate assessments of student work, provide constructive feedback, and maintain records of students’ progress and development.
  • Actively participate in the School’s Internal Verification (IV) process to ensure quality and standards.
  • Raise student achievement and attainment levels, particularly in portfolio development for university applications.
  • Create and maintain a safe, healthy classroom environment conducive to learning.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent in Art and Design.
  • Experience in teaching Art and Design at A-Level or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of the curriculum and portfolio requirements for university applications.
  • Ability to plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and effective lessons.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with students, staff, and parents.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and maintaining up-to-date subject knowledge.
