Windsor Forest College Group is looking for a Lecturer in Engineeringtojoin the Slough & Langley College team on a part-time 0.8 FTE basis.

Lecturer in Engineering

The ideal Lecturer in Engineering will provide high-quality teaching and assessment in the subject area of Engineering, focusing on engineering principles, microcontrollers, product design, and manufacture.

The Lecturer in Engineering is responsible for ensuring an excellent quality of education and training while actively encouraging and promoting student learning. To achieve this, they will strive towards excellence in several key areas:

Firstly, in terms of student learning, the lecturer is responsible for delivering and managing a teaching program, assessing student progress, and preparing progress reports. They also need to maintain accurate and timely data and information, as well as work effectively within the team responsible for teaching and learning strategies. Additionally, the lecturer is expected to stay up to date in relevant areas of professional expertise and develop and maintain links with industry/commerce.

Secondly, the lecturer is involved in curriculum development. This includes developing existing and/or new courses, creating assessment specifications, evaluating and reviewing the curriculum, and ensuring that it remains relevant to the industry. They also conduct student follow-up and evaluate curriculum aims in relation to student outcomes.

Lastly, the lecturer has responsibilities in pastoral care, including assisting learners in choosing appropriate learning programs, designing individual action plans, and helping students identify and resolve obstacles to their progress. They also serve as personal tutors for year groups or course groups and support the outreach and liaison work of the course team. Additionally, the lecturer contributes to the effective functioning of the department through administrative tasks, such as maintaining files and records, implementing college policies, and contributing to the college's strategic objectives.
