GSL Education are looking to appoint a Head of History who is committed to supporting student enjoyment and progress for one of our client school’s History Department. We are looking for a committed, ambitious, inspirational, enthusiastic Head of Department with a proven track record of increasing outcomes, who is passionate about their subject.
This position would suit an experienced Head of Department or someone new to post who has experience of improving GCSE outcomes in a successful department.Â

As Head of History, you should:
- Be an excellent History practitioner
- Have high expectations of standards and achievement for staff and students
- Be flexible, collaborative, and resilient
- Be an accomplished teacher of History, with a proven track record of curriculum design to improve student outcomes
- Contribute to the school’s extracurricular programme
- Have ambitious goals for the success of both your students and the department
- Be a positive role model for staff and students alike.
- Hold QTS Certificate
