Network Architect – Remote/Slough – 6-month contract – Outside of IR35

We are seeking an experienced Network Architect to lead and execute a high-stakes HP to Cisco Data Centre Migration. This project involves both design and hands-on responsibilities, as well as ensuring continuous High Availability for live operations during the migration. The Network Architect will work closely with stakeholders and technical teams across our UK and Singapore offices, ensuring smooth communication and efficient handover of knowledge and documentation upon project completion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Centre Migration Design & Implementation: Lead the end-to-end design, planning, and hands-on implementation of the HP to Cisco migration within a live data centre environment, ensuring minimal disruption and maximum uptime.
  • High Availability Planning: Develop and implement robust high availability and failover strategies to maintain business continuity during the migration.
  • Equipment Decommissioning: Execute the phased decommissioning of legacy HP equipment post-migration, ensuring a seamless transition and optimised resource usage.
  • Change Management: Implement and adhere to change management protocols, aligning with best practices for risk assessment, planning, and execution.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for project-related updates, providing regular status reports to stakeholders and managing expectations for both technical and non-technical teams.
  • Documentation & Knowledge Transfer: Produce detailed project documentation and oversee knowledge transfer sessions to internal teams, ensuring long-term manageability and sustainability.
  • Any infrastructure knowledge or Hyper-V to VMWare migration experience will be beneficial.
  • Outside of IR35

The successful Network Architect will work remote with travel to site when the project is live. There will be an onsite requirement in Slough.
