Loom Talent are delighted to be supporting a client with the recruitment of a Transport Manager in Slough.

Our client are an industry leader in contract logistics and the distribution of FMCG.

As Transport Manager you will have operational responsibility for the department and the safe and efficient delivery of goods.

  • Organise and oversee the running of the transport department at site.
  • Support the route planning function utilising TMS and ensuring routes planned are within weight limit and time constraints.
  • Track and monitor KPI's including OTIF score by route, driver and customer, taking appropriate action where required
  • Monitor vehicle temperature control and ensure the cold chain is maintained at all times
  • Ensure all deliveries have completed POD and any discrepancies are investigated.
  • Monitor and manage the budget for vehicle repairs and maintenance.
  • Manage relationship with vehicle contractors to ensure smooth running of operation and vehicle downtime is minimised.
  • Maintain communication between the distribution and warehouse teams and wider business to ensure all issues are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Motivate and encourage teamwork within the workforce to ensure productivity targets are met.

The successful candidate for the Transport Manager position will possess:

  • A Logistics Distribution and Supply Chain Background - Essential..
  • 3+ years Transport management experience within a Food / FMCG / Contract Logistics - Essential.
  • Proven experience in managing 50+ vehicles - Essential.
  • Must be commutable to the Slough area - Essential
