An established manufacturing business is looking for a skilled Production Engineer to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a diverse skill set to contribute to a fast-paced and innovative environment.

Production Engineer Key Responsibilities:
  • NPI (New Product Introduction) experience, ensuring smooth transitions from design to production.
  • Managing and improving MRP systems and BOM structures to optimize production.
  • Extensive knowledge of electronic components and creating operator build notes.
  • Developing process user training documents to ensure smooth operations across the production team.
  • Utilising tools such as Microsoft Office, Autocad (or similar), GC Preview, View Mate, and CircuitCam for various production tasks, including generating SMD machine programs and operator build packs from kitting to testing.
  • Hands-on experience with Cad/Gerber files for tasks like specifying paste stencils and generating machine programs.
  • Collaborating with line operatives to resolve production and process-related issues.
Required Technical Knowledge for the Production Engineer:
  • SMD (Surface Mount Device) processes, including reflow.
  • Conventional through-hole assembly and selective soldering processes.
  • Conformal coating and box build for final product assembly.
  • Experience with shop floor equipment, such as SMD pick and place machines, solder paste printers, SMD reflow ovens, and selective soldering machines.
Additional Skills & Experience for the Production Engineer:
  • Ability to oversee machine selection, installation, and production integration.
  • Project management skills, including managing factory layouts and driving production efficiency improvements.
  • Comfortable working with shop floor maintenance, troubleshooting, and machine repair, with an understanding of SMD machinery and related equipment.
Personal Attributes:
  • Strong team player with a flexible and proactive approach.
  • A clear communicator, capable of liaising with personnel at all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to resolve issues with a can-do attitude.
