About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Shift Engineer to join our team in Slough. You will play a crucial role in maintaining and ensuring the operational integrity of our critical facilities. As part of a team of engineers working on a continental shift pattern, you'll be responsible for delivering planned and reactive maintenance to our mechanical and electrical systems, ensuring 24/7 uptime across the site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on critical systems, including electrical, HVAC, UPS, and standby power systems.
  • Respond to and resolve reactive maintenance tasks in line with service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and risk management procedures.
  • Troubleshoot faults and carry out repairs on a range of building services systems.
  • Maintain critical environments to ensure 100% uptime.
  • Coordinate with and supervise sub-contractors when required, ensuring safety and quality standards.
  • Keep accurate maintenance logs and records in accordance with company procedures.
  • Participate in emergency response and escalate issues as necessary.

Key Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience in mechanical and electrical maintenance, ideally within a critical or data centre environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of UPS systems, generators, HVAC, and electrical distribution systems.
  • Relevant qualifications such as City & Guilds, NVQ, or HNC in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience with building management systems (BMS) and working to safe systems of work.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Willingness to work a continental shift pattern, including both day and night shifts.
