ROLE- Engineering ManagerLOCATION- SloughTERM- PermanentSALARY- £55,000 - £75,000, dependent on experience My client is a specialist manufacturer. They are looking for a new Engineering Manager to join their team in Slough on a permanent basis.     The Engineering Manager will ideally have the following attributes:
  • Experienced in a similar Department Head / Design Manager / Engineering Manager role 
  • A background in Mechanical Design Engineering 
  • BSc or BEng qualification in Mechanical Engineering / Manufacturing / Product Design / Engineering Design or similar 
  • 5 or more years’ industry experience ideally working in a design / development role within a manufacturing environment
  • Experience working in Automotive, Motorsport, Aerospace, Marine or similar industries would be beneficial 
  • Understanding of FEA, ANSYS, stress analysis, particle fluid simulation etc. 
  • Proficiency with 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Creo, Inventor etc.
  • Good theoretical mechanical engineering knowledge of core principles and tight tolerances
  • Innovative and passionate about design 
  • Excellent leadership and organisational skills
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written
The Engineering Manager role will involve:
  • Leading and developing the Design, R&D and Manufacturing teams 
  • Managing 10+ direct reports
  • Liaising with Heads of other departments to work collaboratively and ensure requirements are met
  • Managing the delivery of engineering tasks / communicating with vendors and partners
  • Always driving continuous improvement in the department
  • Directly managing reports, setting KPI’s and carrying out Reviews and training as required
  • Overseeing the development of new and existing products - from concept through to manufacture and launch
  • Supporting the other platform design teams as necessary through collaboration with other colleagues
  • Ensuring all work meets the relevant standards
  • Ensuring compliance with their ISO standards
  • Being involved in recruitment and performance reviews for the team
