Key Responsibilities:
  • Teaching & Learning:Deliver engaging and high-quality lessons across the Business and Economics curriculum at both Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5. Ensure that all lessons are well-planned, differentiated to meet the diverse needs of students, and aligned with national standards.

  • Curriculum Development:Contribute to the development, implementation, and review of the Business and Economics curriculum. Help to ensure it remains up-to-date, relevant, and engaging for students, incorporating real-world business and economic scenarios.

  • Assessment & Progress:Monitor and assess student progress regularly. Use a variety of formative and summative assessment methods to provide feedback that supports students' academic growth. Identify areas for improvement and work with students to set individual targets.

  • Support & Pastoral Care:Support students both inside and outside the classroom, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment. Work with colleagues to support the well-being and development of students, ensuring that all students feel motivated and valued.

  • Extra-Curricular Contribution:Play an active role in the life of the school, including contributing to extra-curricular activities related to Business and Economics. This could involve running business-related clubs, participating in school-wide events, or supporting the development of enterprise initiatives.

  • Professional Development:Engage in ongoing professional development opportunities, attending staff training sessions and participating in relevant teaching communities. Share best practices with colleagues and contribute to departmental meetings and reviews.

Essential Requirements:
  • A degree in Business, Economics, or a related subject.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience teaching Business and Economics at KS4 and KS5 level, with a clear understanding of current curriculum requirements.
  • Excellent classroom management skills and a strong understanding of how to engage students in the subject matter.
  • A passion for teaching and the ability to inspire students in Business and Economics.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with colleagues, students, and parents.
  • A commitment to raising student achievement and providing a positive, inclusive learning experience.
