The Role/Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and comprehensive Science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Teach your science specialism with confidence, adapting lessons to suit the diverse learning needs of students.
  • Foster a positive learning environment that promotes curiosity and scientific exploration.
  • Prepare students for GCSE examinations, helping to build their knowledge and exam technique.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback and support to promote academic growth.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the Science department to develop engaging curriculum plans and share best practices.
  • Contribute to the wider school community through extracurricular activities, science clubs, or other initiatives.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Hold QTS, PGCE, or an equivalent teaching qualification in Science (unqualified teachers with relevant experience may be considered).
  • Previous experience teaching Science in a UK secondary school, preferably with a track record of raising attainment.
  • Strong subject knowledge across the Science curriculum, particularly in your specialism.
  • Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to engage students with diverse needs.
  • A collaborative and proactive approach, working well within a team to enhance student learning outcomes.
  • A passion for Science and the ability to inspire students to develop a love for the subject.
  • Right to work in the UK and a DBS check registered on the update service (or willing to apply for one).
