Position: Learning Support Assistant
Location: Slough, Berkshire
Contract Type: Full-Time
Salary: Competitive - depending on experience

About the Role:
Supply Desk is currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a supportive secondary school in Slough. This role is ideal for someone passionate about helping students with special educational needs (SEN) and ensuring they have the support and encouragement they need to succeed academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one or small group support for students with special educational needs (SEN).
  • Assist in the development of individual education plans (IEPs) and monitor student progress.
  • Help create an inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued.
  • Support students with additional learning challenges in their classroom activities.
  • Offer emotional support and help students develop social and behavioural skills.
  • Work alongside teachers and SEN coordinators to adapt lessons and resources to meet the needs of SEN students.
  • Participate in meetings with staff and parents to discuss student progress and strategies.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience working with students with SEN or in an educational support role (preferred).
  • A positive, empathetic, and patient attitude when working with students.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with students and staff.
  • Willingness to work as part of a collaborative team.
  • A proactive approach to supporting students in a variety of classroom settings.
  • Relevant qualifications such as a Teaching Assistant qualification (preferred but not essential).
