Location: Slough

Hours Per Week: 37 Hours

Rate of Pay: £50 p/h (Umbrella)

Slough Council is currently searching for a Senior Housing Regulation Officer to join their team on a contract basis.

Main Duties:

  • Inspect, regulate, and license privately rented accommodations, ensuring compliance with housing legislation and addressing substandard housing conditions.
  • Investigate complaints of unlawful eviction, harassment, and poor property management, taking enforcement actions such as serving notices, issuing fines, and preparing legal files for prosecution.
  • Provide expert advice on housing regulations, support multi-agency operations, and contribute to the development of strategies aimed at improving housing standards.
  • Lead and supervise junior officers, manage complex investigations, and represent the Council in criminal and civil proceedings, ensuring high standards of service delivery.

What the Candidate Will Have:

  • Extensive experience in housing regulation, including property inspections, hazard assessments using HHSRS, and enforcement actions such as prosecutions and issuing civil penalties.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage workloads, supervise junior staff, and collaborate effectively with various agencies to improve housing standards.
