Windsor Forest College Group is looking for a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Leadtojoin the Slough & Langley College team on a full-time basis.

Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead

We are excited to be able to offer an opportunity for a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead who will share responsibility for safeguarding and child protection across our large and diverse college situated in Langley, Slough.

You will take part in strategy discussions and inter-agency meetings (Child Protection, Team around the family, Child in Need and Personal Education Plans) and contribute to the assessment of students (S17/S47).

You will advise and support other members of staff on student welfare and child protection matters and liaise with relevant agencies such as the local authority, CAMHS and police.

You will make referrals to appropriate external agencies including Child and Adult Social Services, Police, external counselling services, CAMHS, Youth Services, and the Youth Offending Team.

The successful candidate will report directly to the Director of Safeguarding (DSL) and Wellbeing who will retain lead responsibility for the work of the safeguarding team/DDSLs and will ensure it is completed to the highest standard.

We are looking for a highly committed and experienced safeguarding practitioner, with an education or children’s services background to support the students and families of our college community. However, we would also welcome applications from experienced youth/key workers who would be happy to undergo all relevant training.

You will be responsible to a high level of professional competence maintaining a high standard of effectiveness and quality in all aspects of your work to safeguard the reputation of the College and promote College achievements.
