Are you a dedicated and experienced Qualified Social Worker looking for an exciting opportunity to make a difference in the lives of children in care? We are currently seeking a passionate and skilled individual to join our Children Looked After (CLA) Team in Slough. As a Qualified Social Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality support and care to children and young people who are in the care system.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of children and young people in care, ensuring their needs are met and risks are appropriately managed.
  • Develop and implement care plans in collaboration with children, young people, and their families to promote their well-being and support their individual needs.
  • Provide direct intervention and support to children and young people, including advocacy, counselling, and therapeutic services.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, such as foster carers, schools, healthcare professionals, and legal representatives, to ensure the holistic care and support of children and young people.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including case notes, reports, and relevant documentation, in accordance with statutory requirements and departmental policies.
  • Attend case conferences, reviews, and court hearings as required, representing the best interests of children and young people.
  • Keep abreast of relevant legislation, policies, and best practices, ensuring compliance and professional development.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Social Worker with a recognized social work qualification and active registration with the appropriate regulatory body. (SWE/HCPC)
  • Demonstrated experience working within a Children Looked After (CLA) Team or a similar setting, managing complex cases and delivering high-quality services.
  • Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures related to child protection, safeguarding, and looked after children.
