About the Role:

We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed Psychology Graduate to join a specialist SEN school in Slough as a Teaching Assistant. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates who are passionate about supporting children with Autism and Special Educational Needs (SEN) and want to gain valuable experience in the education sector.

In this role, you will work closely with students, providing tailored support to help them engage with learning, develop social skills, and build confidence. This is a highly rewarding position that will give you the chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with Autism and other SEN.
  • Assist in developing and implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behavioural strategies.
  • Encourage and motivate students to participate in learning and social activities.
  • Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Support students with emotional regulation and social interaction.
  • Offer personal care support where necessary (training provided).
  • Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals to create an inclusive learning environment.
  • Promote positive behaviour and foster a respectful and supportive classroom culture.
Requirements:

?? A degree in Psychology (or a related field) is preferred but not essential.?? Experience working with children or young people with Autism or SEN is beneficial but not required.?? A passion for supporting children with additional needs and helping them to succeed.?? Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.?? Patience, empathy, and a solution-focused mindset.?? Strong organisational skills and the ability to adapt to changing situations.?? A current enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply for one).
