Specialist SEN Mentor - SloughImmediate Start - Full Time Autism Specialism & Complex Needs

Academics LTD is currently collaborating with a specialist school in Slough that offers therapy-based support for children aged 5 to 18 with Special Educational Needs (SEN). The school is seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic SEN Specialist to join their team. This role provides an excellent chance to gain hands-on experience alongside qualified SEN practitioners and psychologists.

This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals looking to build experience in Education, Teaching, or Mental Health. As an SEN Specialist, you will work both one-on-one and in group settings, supporting children with Autism, behavioural challenges, sensory processing issues, and communication difficulties. Many of the pupils also have co-occurring mental health challenges, making this an ideal role for anyone interested in starting a career in Mental Health.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with external professionals and psychologists
  • Support students with complex needs
  • Help students achieve learning milestones and academic goals through a personalised approach
  • Show a genuine interest in working with children or in Mental Health
  • Be proactive, adaptable, and maintain a calm approach

This role is also perfect for graduates looking to gain experience in the education sector, or for those with an interest in Psychology or Mental Health. No prior experience is necessary, though qualifications such as a Degree, Level 3 qualification, or relevant SEN experience are beneficial.
