Operations Assistant/Imports

We are seeking two Operations Assistants to join our imports team. This role is initially temporary but has a strong chance of becoming permanent. The successful candidates will be responsible for the smooth handling of shipments, liaising with various stakeholders, and providing exceptional customer service.

Day to day of the role:
  • Liaise with airlines, agents, customers, and origin offices to ensure the smooth handling of shipments.
  • Arrange collections of freight from the airline and deliveries to customers, including completing invoicing.
  • Address customer queries and support the customs team with their needs.
  • Coordinate with various branches to arrange their trucking requirements and manage inbound Air Freight.
  • Oversee the entire air import process, coordinating and ensuring timely and efficient delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with international customs regulations and documentation.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 1 year experience within the Freight Forwarding industry.
  • In-depth understanding of CHIEF/CDS entries for Import/Export.
  • Exceptional customer service skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Highly organised and capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Computer literate, with knowledge of AS400 and ASM Sequoia being advantageous.
  • Understanding of requirements and operational procedures in air import shipments.
