Summary of Role:
As a Night Shift Warehouse Operative, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient handling of lighting, rigging, and other supporting assets. You will ensure strict adherence to inventory controls and service delivery standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Goods Handling: Accurately and efficiently move goods between different locations within the operation.
- Loading/Unloading: Load and unload vehicles while following relevant procedures and risk assessments.
- Asset Management: Accurately scan and record rental assets through various distribution stages using computers and hand scanners.
- Inventory Control: Recognize and count non-coded equipment, entering accurate information into the system.
- Sub Hire Management: Prioritize and tag sub hire equipment, placing it in designated areas.
- Work Area Maintenance: Keep work areas clean and tidy.
- Quality Checks: Inspect returned goods for damage or missing items and report any issues.
- PPE and Equipment Use: Properly use and maintain PPE and manual handling equipment.
- Team Collaboration: Contribute to a safe working environment and escalate stock anomalies or inaccuracies to the Department Supervisor or Equipment Manager.
- Dispatch Coordination: Ensure all equipment pulled for dispatch is routed to the correct bay at the correct time as per requests from the Equipment Coordinator and Operational Manager.
- Liaison: Work with Department Supervisors, Equipment Manager, inventory teams, and other operational staff to maintain correct stock levels and meet business needs.
Asset Management, Storage & Quality Control:
- Handle all equipment safely and efficiently.
- Prepare and test equipment in line with company procedures, policies, and relevant legislation.
- Escalate any inventory and asset control concerns to the Department Supervisor.
- Strive to achieve and maintain the highest standards of service quality and delivery.
- Follow company procedures for QC checks and scanning controls.
Health & Safety:
- Demonstrate a commitment to achieving a culture of safety.
- Follow all health and safety policies, including manual handling, use of mechanical handling equipment, and safe storage of equipment.
- Maintain clear pedestrian and evacuation routes in the warehouse and external areas, preventing hazards.
- Escalate any health and safety concerns through the correct channels.
Essential Skills:
- Driven to achieve and maintain the highest quality and service standards.
- IT literate with the ability to learn in-house asset management systems.
- Positive approach to the company and ability to react to high business demands.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Adaptable and willing to learn.
- Flexible to work overtime and occasional weekends as required by the business.
