Temporary Site Manager/Caretaker

  • Working Pattern: Monday to Thursday (6:30am to 2:30pm), Friday (6:30am to 2:00pm)
  • Immediate start required, initial 6 - 8 weeks with potential for extension

We are seeking a Temporary Site Manager to join our team at a vibrant primary school. The successful candidate will manage and undertake both planned and reactive site duties to support all school maintenance needs and health and safety requirements. This role is ideal for an individual who is passionate about developing experience within a school site environment and is eager to contribute to the success of our educational setting.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Oversee and manage the maintenance of the school premises, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors.
  • Undertake both planned and reactive maintenance tasks in line with the school’s estates strategy.
  • Line manage site assistants, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Utilise the electronic estates management system, Every, to manage and track maintenance jobs.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and best practices.
  • Engage with a diverse range of individuals, from students to staff and external contractors, maintaining excellent communication throughout.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience in basic maintenance and facilities management.
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence in engaging with a range of individuals.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and independently.
  • Knowledge of health and safety legislation and practices.
  • Highly motivated with a passion for making a positive impact on the lives of young people.
  • Emotional intelligence and the ability to build strong working relationships.
