Process & Quality Engineer

We are seeking a dedicated Process & Quality Engineer to join our Engineering & Quality Department. This role is pivotal in developing and implementing business processes and standards across various areas including Production, Quality, Engineering, and Environmental, Health & Safety. The successful candidate will be instrumental in delivering commercially viable solutions to technical and engineering requirements and supporting the development of our Quality & Environmental Management System (QEMS) and Business Management System (BMS).

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Develop and maintain quality and process engineering skills through CPD and company-supported training.
  • Maintain competence on company business and IT systems, including Epicor E10.
  • Interpret business objectives in the context of engineering standards, developing processes and procedures for QMS that enable compliance.
  • Design and develop products, improvements, tooling, fixtures, test and associated equipment.
  • Undertake Quality Assurance activities to ensure conformity to specifications by monitoring, testing, inspecting, and auditing suppliers, products, and services.
  • Produce and support production & configuration management systems, processes, procedures, and documentation.
  • Develop, implement, and manage process, production, and engineering techniques and capabilities within the business.
  • Maintain Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions related to QMS and Engineering activities.
  • Enhance staff competence through formal and informal training related to quality.
  • Support contract award and fulfilment processes by producing quality and engineering related plans, specifications, and product realisation documents.
  • Produce PPAP engineering documentation such as FMEA’s, Control Plans, PFD’s.
  • Contribute towards continual improvement objectives for the QMS and associated business activities.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Degree or equivalent in automotive engineering or a similar discipline.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
  • Knowledge and experience of ISO, IATF, and APQP quality, environmental, and general standards.
  • Experience in quality management and project management techniques.
  • Holds or is willing to work towards a recognised Audit Qualification or has at least one year’s experience working in an audit environment.
  • Demonstrates a positive attitude towards work and aligns with the company’s objectives.
  • Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team.
