The Company
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Maintenance Engineer to join our client, a large global business based in Smethwick, Birmingham.
They are looking to add one Maintenance Engineer to their team urgently. The well-known and large global manufacturing group is performing exceptionally, producing a variety of bespoke products for international clients. With an emphasis on breakdown elimination and preventative maintenance, you will be encouraged to have a direct input into the continuous improvement culture and have individual project ownership.
The role demands a maintenance-trained and technically based individual who can offer at least 2 years' experience in engineering in a manufacturing environment.
The applicant must be confident with hydraulics and pneumatics, drives, gearboxes, and have a good understanding and working knowledge of current safe working practices. Our client is looking for somebody who is mechanically biased with excellent fault-finding skills.
The Role: Maintenance Engineer
You will be reacting to breakdowns, PPM, and CI. You will be working on presses, lifting equipment, robotics, assembly equipment, and various other heavy-duty equipment. The role will be challenging but technically rewarding.
- Maintenance, production improvements, and project work.
- Weekly PPMs: the role initially will be 60% reactive, 40% PPM.
- Fault-finding mechanically on several types of equipment onsite.
- Gain exposure to various machinery.
Essentials:
- Apprenticeship and relevant qualifications (Level 3 maintenance or engineering qualification).
- Previous experience of working in an engineering background.
- Experience of problem-solving on maintenance, i.e., breakdowns.
- Preventative maintenance experience.
