Production Technician - Permanent Position (Temp to Perm available)

Reed Engineering and Manufacturing is recruiting on behalf of a prestigious and innovative client in the West Bromwich/Sandwell area. We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Production Technician to join our client's dynamic team. Job Title: Production TechnicianLocation: West Bromwich/SandwellSalary: £11.50 per hourHours: 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM with ½ hour lunchHolidays: 25 days plus 8 public holidaysBenefits: Life Cover (3x base salary), Pension (Employer 3% and Employee 5%, rising to 5% after 12 months), Two weeks paid leave for Reservists

Job Purpose: As a Production Technician, you will perform a specific production-based role within the Diesel Systems production environment, ensuring high-quality work and adherence to company procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Component Assessment: Assess overall condition of units, strip and clean units according to work instructions.
  • Clean Room: Assess individual components, complete Job Cards, build injectors/pumps, and comply with clean room regulations.
  • Testing: Test injectors/pumps to OE specifications and report faults to the Production Manager.

Requirements:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (MS Excel) or willingness to work towards.
  • Knowledge of QHSE Legislation.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to multi-task and work under pressure.
  • Proven experience working as part of a team.
  • Displays a good attitude towards work and the aims and objectives of the company.
  • Knowledge or awareness of Diesel Systems.
  • Evidence of understanding the wider global functioning of previous employers.
  • Evidence of using a variety of hand tools, either in an employed or personal capacity.
  • Experience in a production or warehousing environment with multiple product lines, operations, and SKUs.

Note: The job requires working on a large variety of jobs that can involve multiple small built assemblies a day to some jobs that will take up to 28 hours to complete. Candidates must have the ability to work at this level of variety.
