Are you passionate about supporting young children with Special Educational Needs? A welcoming primary school in Smethwick is looking for a dedicated Early Years Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 and small group support to children with ASD, ADHD, and other additional needs in their Early Years setting.

The Role

Working in Nursery and Reception, you will play a key role in helping children with SEN access learning in a supportive and engaging environment. You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement strategies that help children develop their communication, social, and motor skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to children in the Early Years
  • Use sensory play and structured learning activities to aid development
  • Support children with speech and language difficulties using visual aids
  • Implement EHCP targets and track progress
  • Encourage social interaction and independence through play-based learning

Who We're Looking For

  • Experience supporting SEN children in an Early Years setting
  • A Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) is desirable
  • Understanding of child development and early learning strategies
  • A patient, nurturing, and enthusiastic approach
