Learning Support Assistant | Birmingham, B66 | £90 - £105 per day | September 2024 start

LTF Recruitment is seeking a patient and committed Learning Support Assistant to join our respected partner primary school in Smethwick. This rewarding position offers the chance to make a meaningful impact in the classroom by assisting the teacher in maintaining a productive and positive learning environment. The school is looking for the right candidate to join them on a long-term basis, and for the right candidate the school is looking to make this role permanent.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and group support to students with SEN, ensuring they have access to a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and adapt teaching methods to meet the specific needs of each student.
  • Collaborate with class teachers and the SENCO to create a nurturing and engaging classroom atmosphere.
  • Support students in their academic and social development.
  • Monitor and record progress, providing feedback to the teaching team and parents as required.
  • Help maintain a safe and organised classroom setting.

What we are looking for:

  • Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualified and/or a minimum of 12 months' experience in an educational establishment.
  • Experience supporting children with SEN.
  • Experience working with students individually and in small groups, as well as leading intervention sessions to support their education.
  • Knowledge of the UK primary curriculum.
