As they continue to promote an inclusive ethos, they are excited to offer an exceptional opportunity for an enthusiastic and caring SEN Graduate Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team.Position: SEN Graduate Teaching AssistantKey Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate closely with the SENCo (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) and class teachers to develop individualized learning plans for students with SEN.
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to SEN students, helping them access the curriculum and reach their full potential.
  • Adapt and differentiate learning materials and resources to cater to the diverse learning needs of SEN students.
  • Implement specific strategies and interventions to support the academic, social, and emotional development of SEN students.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment, promoting understanding, empathy, and respect among all students.
  • Assist in monitoring and tracking the progress of SEN students, providing valuable feedback to the teaching team and parents.
  • Collaborate with external professionals and support agencies involved in the care of SEN students.
  • Support students during assessments and examinations, ensuring they have appropriate accommodations.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree.
  • Genuine passion for working with students with Special Educational Needs and a strong belief in their potential.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Empathy, patience, and a nurturing approach to supporting SEN students in their learning journey.
  • Previous experience working with SEN students, either in a school or care setting, is highly desirable.
  • An understanding of different SEN conditions and a commitment to creating an inclusive learning environment.
