This Role

Join a rapidly expanding team as a QA Engineer and play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality and reliability of mission-critical systems!

As a QA Engineer specialising in PHP, you will leverage your expertise in code reviews, unit testing, and system testing to uphold the quality and functionality of our applications. Your role will involve collaborating with developers and stakeholders to ensure that the system meets its requirements, adheres to best practices, and delivers exceptional user experiences.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborate with the development team to understand requirements and ensure the testability of new features and updates.
  • Conduct comprehensive code reviews to maintain coding standards and identify potential bugs or inefficiencies.
  • Develop and execute test plans for system functionality, performance, and security to ensure reliability across the stack.
  • Write and maintain unit tests to automate validation of core application functionality.
  • Identify, document, and track bugs, ensuring prompt resolution in collaboration with developers.
  • Implement QA processes to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality code and software.
  • Analyse test results to provide insights and recommend improvements for enhanced system quality.
  • Maintain documentation of testing procedures, outcomes, and best practices to ensure knowledge sharing.

You'll excel in this role if you have the following skills & experience:

  • Strong knowledge of PHP, including familiarity with frameworks such as CakePHP or Laravel.
  • Experience with unit testing frameworks such as PHPUnit and a deep understanding of automated testing methodologies.
  • Proficiency in code review practices, with a keen eye for identifying errors, inefficiencies, and security vulnerabilities.
  • Solid understanding of version control systems like Git and experience with collaborative development workflows.
  • Familiarity with MySQL and database schema validation.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
  • Attention to detail, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of testing procedures and documentation.
  • Knowledge of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) for cross-functional testing purposes.
  • Excellent communication skills for effectively working with developers and stakeholders.
  • A passion for maintaining high-quality systems and staying updated with QA best practices and tools.
