The successful candidate will have experience of working at a senior level within a small to medium-sized firm. You will be responsible for a portfolio of clients, along with the supervision of a small team.

Salary:40,000 - 48,000 per annum (dependent on experience and qualifications)

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Qualified Accountant to join their thriving accountancy practice. This is a client-facing role, offering the opportunity to manage a diverse portfolio of clients, ranging from sole traders to limited companies. The ideal candidate will be confident in preparing accounts, tax returns, and handling occasional bookkeeping tasks, while providing exceptional service to their clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Portfolio Management:Oversee a varied portfolio of clients, acting as their primary point of contact for financial and accounting matters.
• Accounts Preparation:Prepare annual accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies.
• Tax Returns:Prepare and file personal and corporate tax returns, ensuring compliance with HMRC regulations.
• Bookkeeping:Conduct occasional bookkeeping tasks when required, ensuring accurate financial records.
• Client Interaction:Build and maintain strong client relationships, offering advice and support as needed.
• Software Use:Utilise accounting software such as Xero, FreeAgent, TaxCalc, MoneySoft, and Virtual Cabinet (training provided for unfamiliar systems).
• Team Support:Mentor junior staff and assist colleagues with technical queries as required.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

• A recognised UK accountancy qualification (ACCA, ACA, or equivalent).
• Proven experience working in an accountancy practice environment.
• Experience managing a portfolio of clients, with a strong understanding of UK accounting and tax regulations.

• Strong organisational and time management abilities to handle a varied workload effectively.
• Attention to detail and high levels of accuracy in financial reporting.
