Your new companyHays are delighted to be working with a privately owned group of companies in South Birmingham with a combined T/O of circa £100 million. The company are specialists in their field with many years of experience and are based in lovely offices with parking and excellent flexibility on hybrid working.Your new roleWe are looking for a Group Financial Accountant to work for the holding group of companies and support the Group Financial Controller.Key duties include:Production of monthly head office management accounts & related payments to TB.Assist in the production of month-end consolidated management accounts including P&L, Balance Sheet & Cash Flow.

Assist in the production of monthly reports for the main board.

Work with management & colleagues to ensure reporting consistency across subsidiaries, with common processes, to drive efficiency and quality improvements within the Group, e.g. balance sheets

Working closely with departments across the group to share best practices.Ensure that key balance sheet accounts are appropriately supported by underlying detailed analysis and relevant documentation by maintaining control account reconciliations.

Ensure that intercompany transactions have been appropriately reconciled & eliminate on consolidationPerform compliance reviews across subsidiaries, applying an internal audit approach to validate compliance.

Ensuring internal policies & procedures are compliant with UK GAAP / FRS 102.Ensure finance processes are in line with best practices & group rules.

Ensure all team members are up-to-date with technical accounting standards impacting the subsidiary management and financial accounts.

Ensure completeness and accuracy of the budget process and preparation.

Retrospectively review audit files to improve processes & challenge the audit process

Liaison and interaction with external auditors

Support Group Financial Controller.

Perform any other duties within your capabilities as requested from time to time by ManagementWhat you'll need to succeedThis role would be ideally suited to a Qualified Accountant who has trained in a mid-size Accountancy Practice undertaking audits for SME companies and also with a mixture of Accounts Preparation.
