Robert Half is recruiting for a Permanent Full Time Credit Controller to join a large business based in South Birmingham.

About the Role:We are seeking an experienced and motivated Credit Controller to join a dynamic team based in South Birmingham, you will play a pivotal role in managing the company's credit and ensuring timely payments to maintain a healthy cash flow. This role involves managing a multi-entity ledger, requiring strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and manage the company's multi-entity accounts receivable ledger.
  • Conduct credit checks for new and existing clients to establish credit limits.
  • Chase overdue invoices across multiple entities via telephone, email, and written correspondence.
  • Maintain accurate records of all credit control activities and customer communications.
  • Reconcile customer accounts across various entities and resolve invoice queries in a timely manner.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to reduce aged debt.
  • Prepare and present reports on aged debt, payment trends, and credit risk to senior management.
  • Collaborate with internal departments, such as sales and finance, to resolve disputes and improve processes.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant regulations.

Key Skills and Experience Required:

  • Previous experience in a credit control or similar financial role.
  • Strong understanding of credit management principles and procedures.
  • Experience managing a multi-entity ledger is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; familiarity with accounting/ERP software is an advantage.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Experience within the logistics sector is desirable but not essential.
