A fantastic opportunity has opened up for a Credit Controller to join a thriving retail business in Solihull. This role has become available due to a team restructure following internal promotions, and with the company continuing to grow year after year, there are strong progression opportunities for the right person. The temporary aspect of this role is essentially a probationary period, with a long-term permanent position on offer for someone who proves to be a great fit.

Managing your own ledger, you'll be responsible for chasing payments over the phone, setting up new customer accounts (including completing credit checks), and ensuring outstanding debt is recovered in a timely manner. The business has an excellent working culture-the team is warm, welcoming, and loves a good laugh-so they're looking for someone who brings a positive, happy energy to the office! Due to the restructure that has prompted this position, the business are ideally looking for the right person to join them ASAP - so please only apply if you are immediately available or on a short, one week, notice period.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing your own ledger, ensuring payments are chased and collected efficiently.
  • Making outbound calls to customers to recover outstanding debt.
  • Setting up new customer accounts, including conducting credit checks.
  • Investigating and resolving customer queries quickly and professionally.
  • Allocating payments and reconciling accounts.
  • Working closely with internal teams to improve cash flow and reduce aged debt.
  • Preparing reports on outstanding debt and credit risk.

Candidate Attributes and Skills:

  • Previous credit control experience, ideally in a fast-paced environment.
  • Confident and friendly communicator with strong negotiation skills.
  • Positive, upbeat personality-someone who enjoys a fun office environment!
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
