ML76- Senior Electrical Engineer.Salary: £45,000.Location: Solihull.Overview:First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer on behalf of one of our clients.Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel however all candidates will be given due consideration.Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design Leadership: Produce detailed electrical designs, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarms, security systems, and renewable energy solutions, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations
- Project Management: Oversee the delivery of electrical engineering projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to client satisfaction
- Collaboration: Work closely with clients, architects, and other engineers to develop tailored solutions that meet project requirements
- Technical Oversight: Review and approve designs, calculations, and specifications prepared by junior engineers and ensure quality assurance across all deliverables
- Mentorship: Provide guidance and support to junior engineers, fostering their development and encouraging a collaborative team environment
- Sustainability: Incorporate energy-efficient and sustainable design practices into project solutions
- Site Support: Attend project meetings and site visits to ensure alignment between design intent and on-site implementation
Skills and qualifications:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or Equivalent (Chartered Engineer status or working towards it preferred)
- Proven experience in electrical design within a consultancy or similar environment, including a strong portfolio of delivered projects
- In-depth knowledge of relevant standards, codes, and regulations (e.g., BS 7671, Building Regulations)
- Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and calculation tools (e.g., Electrical -OM, Amtech, Dialux)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead client meetings and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
