Part-time ER Consultant

c£50-55k FTE (Pro-rata)

21 hours per week (open to negotiation on working pattern)

We are currently working with a small, successful HR and Employment Law Consultancy to recruit an experienced ER/HR Consultant with a passion for Employment Law & Employee Relations. Working in partnership with a variety of clients across mixed sectors across the SME market, you will operate as an HR Partner to various business stakeholders and offer credible HR advice with a pragmatic, commercially aligned approach.

This is also an excellent opportunity to work closely with the MD in fully understanding client needs and market trends and working closely alongside your clients you will be given autonomy in shaping future client engagement strategy.

The role will suit someone with significant success in managing Employee Relations caseloads across a wide range of challenges, with some experience of or evidence of potential to provide holistic HR partnering. This role will enable opportunities to seek that next step with greater influence and involvement within the Consultancy business plans and those of its clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • With a strong focus on Employment Law, offer credible and commercial HR advice across a broad range of areas; eg. Disciplinary, grievance, absence management, redundancy, restructure and TUPE.
  • Develop and maintain credible working relationships with clients, asking the right questions and developing solutions that meet their needs whilst harnessing a positive and engaging workplace culture
  • Take responsibility for your own CPD and maintain an up-to-date knowledge of changes in employment legislation and other relevant areas, with the ability to impart such knowledge on clients through materials updates, policy review and management capability training
  • Undertake a flexible, 'can-do’ approach with the willingness to undertake associated administrative tasks where required

Required qualifications & skills

  • Significant experience of working as an ER or HR Consultant delivering pragmatic HR & Employment Law advice is essential (also potentially as an experienced HR Interim, Consultant or from a similar HR & Employment Law service provider).
  • Demonstrable knowledge of Employment Law and experience of managing complex Employee Relations casework
  • Commercial operator; the ability to understand the whole picture with clients and collaborate with them on options and practical solutions within the parameters of current Employment Legislation.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks effectively to a high-standard
  • Excellent attention to detail with strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-starter, able to work proactively with minimal supervision and enjoy working in smaller business environments
  • Ideally CIPD Level 5 minimum
