An opportunity to be a Finance Business Partner for a private equity owned global technology company with their offices based in Solihull. The main purpose of this role is to become a true number 2, to the FD. In turn, the FD will support your development in everything from team management to system implementation.

Main Duties:

As a Finance Business Partner, your main duties include:

  • Support the FD in preparing budgets and forecasts with input from different departments.
  • Provide clear variance analysis and insights to help with decision-making.
  • Regularly update forecasts based on actual results and changing business needs.
  • Advise department heads with financial insights to help them meet their goals.
  • Lead budget discussions and suggest ways to reduce costs and increase revenue.
  • Work with others to turn financial data into useful insights.
  • Find ways to improve financial processes and controls.
  • Lead initiatives to make financial operations more efficient and accurate.
  • Build financial models and tools to support strategic planning.
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and report on financial results.
  • Conduct analyses as needed to assist with business decisions.
  • Assist with the month-end close in collaboration with the Finance team.
  • Prepare and review monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow reports.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and policies.

What We Are Looking For

The ideal candidate will have:

  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA Qualified - or a very strong finalist
  • Previous experience in a similar role, ideally within a private equity-backed business or a fast-paced SME, would be beneficial.
  • Strong skills in financial systems and advanced Excel are important; experience with implementing new systems would be a plus.
  • Proven ability to work closely with non-financial stakeholders, with great interpersonal and communication skills.
  • A proactive approach, with a focus on continuous improvement and a hands-on attitude to problem-solving.
  • Highly organized, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to juggle multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
  • Well-versed in commercial finance
  • A commercially driven mindset
  • Driving License
