Job Purpose
  • Manage a significant portfolio of personal tax clients, monitoring the commercial aspects of portfolio management
  • Preparation of personal self-assessment tax returns
  • Undertake R40 tax repayment claims, PAYE settlement agreements, and PAYE tax code reviews
  • Manage P11D benefits and expenses
  • Handle HMRC disclosures
  • Trust and Estate tax, Trust registrations and maintenance of HMRC Trust register, and preparation of R185 statements of Trust and Estate income
  • Deliver CGT UK property disposal returns and complex CGT issues relating to M&A and foreign matters
  • Maintenance of CCH software
  • Mentor junior staff, including reviewing work and providing training
  • Monitor team performance, identifying knowledge gaps and providing training as needed
  • Work directly with Directors and Partners to ensure deadlines and fee recovery targets are met
  • Building trusted client relationships, proactively handling queries and problem solving
  • Keeping up-to-date with tax knowledge, championing knowledge sharing across the team

The Successful Applicant
  • CTA/ATT qualified or part qualified with impressive tax experience within UK practice
  • Excellent knowledge of personal tax compliance processes, issues, and regulations.
  • Self-motivated and reliable who is eager to progress
  • Confident in reviewing processes and improving systems to boost efficiency
  • Strong communication skills are essential, both verbal and written
  • Commercial business acumen
  • People management experience with track record of mentoring junior staff
