Your new companySolihull Council are looking to recruit a Food Safety Officer to join their already established team on a temporary-ongoing contract flexing initially for 2 - 3 months with potential for extensions following this. This role has an ASAP start date once signed off by the compliance team, and this will include referencing and DBS checks. You will be located and travelling to the Solihull location as well as other neighbouring areas in Birmingham.Your new roleAs a Food Safety Officer you will be conducting inspections and reports on food safety across various different premises during your day-to-day. There is an expectation to conduct inspections at 2 - 3 premises per day. You will be focusing on ensuring premises stay compliant with food law & practice, specifically on A - C (high risk) category inspections, with a focus on food hygiene and safety inspections. You will be out on the field daily conducting these inspections across the Solihull patch. There are around 165 premises needing action currently.What you'll need to succeedTo be successful in your application you must be a qualified EHO and a member of the CIEH, you must have previous experience working within a local authority and you must hold a full clean UK driving license, access to your own vehicle, and business insurance added to your insurance policy if not already. You must have field experience in food safety or done this as or part of a qualification. You also need to be open to completing the relevant compliance processes in order to get you signed off by our audit / compliance team to start in this role.What you'll get in returnIf you are successful within this role you will receive £30 per hour for this position. It is a 35-hour week flexing Monday - Friday on a temporary - ongoing contract with Solihull Council.
