Wills Assistant

Job Location: Shirley

Working period: Hours: 9:00am to 5:30pm Monday - Thursday. Friday 9:00am to 5:00pm 1 hour for lunch (37 hrs)

A leading legal 500 law firm seeking a Wills Assistant to join their welcoming team in Shirley. This role involves providing legal services to clients while aligning with the firm’s objectives and procedures.

Your main duties will include but not limited to:

  • Take instructions for Wills, prepare and type Wills, and ensure they are signed by clients, always handling matters efficiently and profitably while maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Enhance technical knowledge by consulting with supervising fee-earners on day-to-day challenges and attending structured training courses.
  • Travel between offices as needed and occasionally visit clients at their homes; a valid driver's license and access to a vehicle are essential.
  • Taking Will instructions preparing/typing Wills and getting them signed by client - at all times handling client matters efficiently and profitably and maintaining client goodwill

Skills, knowledge and experience:

  • All fee earners must be able to demonstrate an ability to perform their job whether from practical experience or training received and must bring to the attention of their supervising partner any areas of shortfall.
