We are seeking a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistantto work closely with a specific student, providing tailored support to help them excel academically and personally.

You'll be key in ensuring this student gets the individual attention they need to thrive.

Your responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 assistance to a student, adapting teaching methods to meet their unique needs
  • Support the class teacher with lesson preparation and delivery, ensuring the student stays engaged and on track.
  • Implement strategies to manage and improve student behaviour, promoting a positive and inclusive classroom environment.

The essentials

  • Previous experience working in an SEMH primary or secondary school, or with children with SEND
  • Insight into trauma and adverse childhood experiences and their impact on children's behaviour.
  • Ability to quickly build positive relationships with children based on mutual respect.
  • Ideally, you will have Team Teach training
  • An enhanced DBS check for the safety of students
  • A relevant teaching and learning qualification

The school

Our partnered school, which is based in Birmingham, caters to the special educational needs of children between the ages of 5 - 11. They aim to provide a nurturing environment where they can support studentswith a wide range of complex conditions, including ASC, ADHD and Attachment Disorder.
