We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Quality Technician to join a leading automotive manufacturer. You will play a critical role in ensuring the highest standards of quality across all production processes, while also driving continuous improvement initiatives. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a strong quality assurance background in the automotive industry, looking for a challenging and rewarding role.
Role Responsibilities:
- Drive internal and external quality issue resolution to maintain high production standards.
- Ensure working and master samples are valid, available, and used correctly in production.
- Issue, monitor, and enforce adherence to Quality Alerts across production teams.
- Initiate and oversee temporary and permanent fixes for any quality-related problems.
- Conduct product audits to ensure compliance with standards and protocols.
- Assist customers with quality concerns during your shift and visit customer sites when required.
- Support line trials and ensure accurate documentation and feedback.
- Utilize Global 8D reporting to drive root cause analysis and corrective action, with multifunctional team support.
- Provide support to operations and production teams, ensuring adherence to 1st-off procedures.
Role Requirements (Preferred but not essential):
- ONC or equivalent in Quality Control Techniques.
- Working knowledge of FMEA's (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis) and control plans.
- Familiarity with IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 quality standards.
- Experience conducting process and product audits.
- Metrology experience and proficiency in measurement techniques.
- Experience with X-rite colour measurement.
- Understanding of APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning).
- Ability to interpret and understand engineering drawings.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage at all levels within the organization.
- PC proficiency, including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project.
- Ability to generate accurate and informative data reports.
- A team player with a collaborative mindset.
- Knowledge of paint, plastic, and assembly processes in high-volume manufacturing is desirable.
