Our client is dedicated to supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), and specific learning needs such as DDA, who find it challenging to thrive in mainstream education environments.
About the Role:
We are seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Teaching Practitioner to cover English, Maths, and Science for secondary students. In this role, you will be responsible for creating fun, engaging, and motivational lessons that inspire students to reach their full potential. You will have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of students who may have experienced trauma, offering them a safe and supportive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality lessons in English, Maths, and Science that are tailored to meet the individual needs of students.
- Create an engaging and inclusive classroom environment that fosters motivation, creativity, and academic growth.
- Work closely with other staff members to ensure the holistic development of students, including those with ASD, ASC, ADHD, and Fetal Alcohol Syndrome.
- Offer pastoral support to students who have experienced trauma, helping them to build confidence and resilience.
- Contribute to the development of individualized learning plans and monitor student progress.
Ideal Candidate:
- Experience teaching secondary-level English, Maths, and Science.
- Knowledge and experience of working with students with ASD, ASC, ADHD, and other specific learning needs.
- Previous experience working with students who have faced trauma is highly desirable.
- Ability to create engaging, student-centered lessons and make learning fun and accessible for all.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and external agencies.
- A compassionate and patient approach to teaching, with a genuine passion for supporting students with additional needs.
