Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Cover Supervisor to join our team on a temporary basis, with the possibility of a permanent position. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining the continuity of education during teacher absences by delivering pre-prepared lessons and managing classroom behaviour.
Key Responsibilities:
• Supervise and manage classrooms during teacher absences, ensuring a positive and productive learning environment.• Deliver pre-prepared lesson plans and ensure students remain on task.• Support students in their learning and address any questions or concerns.• Maintain accurate records of student attendance and behaviour.• Collaborate with teaching staff and other cover supervisors to ensure consistency and continuity in education.• Uphold the school’s policies and procedures, including safeguarding and health and safety.
Requirements:
• Proven experience as a Cover Supervisor or in a similar educational role.• A genuine passion for working with secondary school students and supporting their educational journey.• Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage and motivate students.• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.• Flexibility and adaptability to work in a dynamic school environment.• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Desirable:
• Relevant qualifications or training in education or a related field.• Experience working in a secondary school setting in Birmingham or the surrounding area.
